Breaking News: Pak-Afghan Torkham border opened for freight vehicles

Peshawar: The Pak-Afghan Torkham border has been opened for freight vehicles. Clear vehicles were allowed to cross the border from customs.

According to sources, foot traffic on the border will be stopped and vehicles are moving on both sides.

It should be noted that this morning, after the Taliban gained control of the Torkham border, Pakistan closed it down for all kinds of traffic, but now it has been opened for freight vehicles.

As the Taliban advance in Afghanistan increased, Pakistan closed the 6 Torkham border gates for all kinds of traffic, according to reports. Pakistani security officials are on high alert, with the Taliban on the other side.

It is to be noted that the Taliban are advancing ever further into Afghanistan and have reached the outskirts of Kabul. They have stated that they do not wish for any conflict or bloodshed and are looking to gain control without any violence. President Ashraf Ghani has been resigned and fled the country, with his former members of the cabinet looking to do the same. Former Afghan ambassador to Germany, Ahmed Ali Jalali, is going to be leading the interim government.
