British PM and Finance Minister confined to office work

Lahore, 18th July: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Finance Minister are now confined to office work after being in contact with UK’s Health Minister who tested positive for COVID-19.

According to details, British PM Boris Johnson and Finance Minister Rishi Sunak have been confined to office work and are undergoing daily tests for the detection of COVID-19.

As per details, both have self-isolated themselves and are taking precautions after they came in direct contact with British Health Minister Sajid Javid, who tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday, July 17.

A statement from Johnsons’s Downing Street office said on Sunday, “The Prime Minister and Chancellor have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace as contacts of someone who has tested positive for COVID.”

Hence, according to law anyone coming in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive individual needs to self-isolate for 10 days.

However, the government’s two senior-most officials will now take part in a pilot study and work from their offices. They will self-isolate only when they are not working.

Downing Street informed on Sunday, “They will be participating in the daily contact testing pilot to allow them to continue to work from Downing Street. They will be conducting only essential government business during this period.”
