In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) has bolstered its so-called security measures along the Working Boundary in the Arnia sector of Jammu.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the BSF has intensified its night patrols to ensure round-the-clock surveillance and security across different areas of the sector.

The high alert has been sounded ahead of Diwali, the Hindu festival, scheduled to be celebrated on Monday, October 20.

A BSF official said that the force is fully prepared to respond to any security challenges and ensure that citizens can celebrate Diwali without fear. In addition to increased patrols, the BSF has also been coordinating with local law enforcement agencies to ensure that security measures are effective across the Jammu region.

However, the deployment of additional forces and surveillance measures come amidst ongoing human rights violations in IIOJK, particularly targeting the Muslim population in the territory. The Muslim community continues to face daily crackdowns, arbitrary raids, arrests, and a pervasive atmosphere of fear and humiliation.
