BTS song ‘Dynamite’ sets a YouTube record
23rd August: Korean pop band BTS’s song ‘Dynamite’ has set a YouTube record with the most views in 24 hours.
According to the report from international media, the K-pop group has set a record for having the most views in 24 hours for a music video after releasing their highly anticipated English track ‘Dynamite’ on Friday.

It’s estimated to have around 98.3 million views in the first 24 hours (although YouTube hasn’t officially confirmed the exact number yet).

The band broke a record set by another K-pop girl’s band BLACKPINK for their song ‘How You Like That’ which had 86.3 million views when it came out back in June.
The song also became the No 1 trending video on YouTube globally within 12 hours of its debut.
The video for Dynamite, which features BTS performing a signature energized dance routine, was viewed more than 17 million times within an hour of its upload.

The band comprises RM, Jungkook, V, J-Hope, Jimin, Suga, and Jin. The band revealed earlier this month that they made the decision to release Dynamite ahead of their new album.

“We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible,” the group said on Korean broadcasting app V Live.
Due to Covid-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans.”
BLACKPINK beats BTS and sets Guinness World Records
The group will also premiere a TV performance of the new single at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards scheduled to air on August 30 at 8 pm EST (or August 31 at 4 am GST).
