KARACHI: Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan has banned food and beverages on all domestic flights to prevent the second wave of coronavirus.
According to the details, CAA has taken this decision on the special directive of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). In this regard, the sources said that the CAA has taken further steps to protect the passengers from this epidemic in view of the second wave of coronavirus.
In this regard, on the special directive of the NCOC, the supply of food and beverages on all domestic flights was banned.
According to the CAA, no meals including food and drink will be provided to the passengers during the flight. The law will be fully implemented by all private airlines and chartered flights, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The CAA’s director of air transport has formally notified the ban. The notification directed that all airport managers and ASF officials would strictly enforce it.
In addition, flight crews and passengers are required to wear face masks and sanitizers. All airlines must use passenger masks on their flights. According to the CAA, all airlines will be required to fully implement the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) on their flights.
