CAA issues new travel guidelines for international passengers

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has barred the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) from issuing new licenses to pilots, engineers, flight attendants and air traffic controllers.

According to the details, ICAO has expressed concerns over safety measures and violations of regulations over CAA and stopped the Civil Aviation Authority from issuing new licenses.

The CAA has been instructed not to issue new licenses, however review the previous issued licenses and sought clarification from Pakistan’s aviation authority till September 29.

Baaghi TV has learnt that CAA has been asked to submit its written response to remove concerns of the ICAO which would impose ‘Significant Safety Concern (SSC)’ if Pakistan’s aviation authority fails to give a satisfactory response.

ICAO also expressed dissatisfaction over the procedure for issuing licenses to air traffic controllers, engineers and pilots, saying that the safety standards and international laws are being ignored by the Civil Aviation Authority.

PIA safety audit successfully completed by IATA experts

CAA sources said the Civil Aviation Authority would respond in writing to the ICAO’s concerns.

It is to be remembered that on September 17, 2020, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had successfully completed its International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) 2020 audit.

CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked the team and praised them for their professionalism. The auditors started their work from September 7, 2020, onwards to September 18, 2020.
