CAA issues alert for the Karachi Airport

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has once again issued an alert for Jinnah International Airport in view of another spell of monsoon rain in Karachi.

According to details, the CAA staff has been directed to take steps to deal with any situation during the rough weather in the metropolis. The CAA has instructed for adding surplus weight with fixed wing small aircraft and helicopters, says the Airport Manager Imran Khan.

Additional Director CAA, Air Vice Marshal Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti, has issued a notification with regard to precautions during the rough weather. The regulatory authority has also instructed for transfer of light equipment at the airport to a place of safety in case of bad weather.

Moreover, the Civil Aviation Authority has also directed for fumigation at the airport to tackle insects during the monsoon and deployment of shooters to limit the bird movement in the area.

Earlier this month, on July 5, Civil Aviation had completed security arrangements at the airport to protect aircraft and passengers from heavy rains and dust storms.
