A case has been registered against lawmakers of Sindh Assembly belonging to PTI Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on charges of threatening an on-duty police officer in Karachi on Thursday,
According to reports of Baaghitv, Karachi Police has registered a case against Malik Shahzad Awan, MPA in Sindh Assembly for threatening the on-duty police officer in Ittehad Town of Karachi. The matter came in discussion after the emergence of a video on social media in which law-maker can be heard threatening on-duty police officer against extorting businessmen and traders in Saeedabad Sector 9.
In the video, PTI lawmaker Awan can be heard saying, “I will not spare you here [in public] or in your homes … I will have you publically stripped and hung upside down … Go and tell your IG, DIG and SSP,”
Police has consequentially registered a case against him under sections 506, 504, 147, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). It is yet to be confirm whether the extortion has been asked by police from businessman or not.
