Lahore, 19th August: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Muhammad Dogar and Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman paid a visit to the woman who was harassed at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14.
According to details, both the senior officials met with the victim and her mother at their home on Thursday and assured them of providing justice in the horrific incident.
The woman, who is also a social media star, appreciated the Dolphin police team who rescued her after being harassed for two and a half hours at the Greater Iqbal Park on the occasion of Independence Day. A girl named Ayesha Akram said that she got a second life after being rescued from a mob of nearly 400 men.

CCPO Lahore insured the woman to provide her with justice as she is the daughter of the entire nation. He added, “It is our responsibility to ensure equal rights to women.”
Previously, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said in a statement that the suspects are being identified through videos of the incident shared on social media. The videos were sent to NADRA to verify the culprits.

Earlier, a police official who asked to remain unnamed informed Dawn News, that the footage is being acquired from Safe City cameras, DHA and TikTok clips. He revealed that 10 people have been identified and would be apprehended soon, the others, he said would also be identified soon.
Baaghi TV also reported on Wednesday that the victim came forward to narrate her terrible ordeal on August 14, after which she filed an FIR with the Lahore police.

Aayesha recounted men of all ages touched and groped her everywhere. She said, “They threw me in the air as if I were a toy, they snatched my mobile, earrings, rings and took away my cash.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the incident occurred on August 14, at the Greater Iqbal Park to a girl when she was harassed by nearly 400 men. Videos of the incident went viral on Tuesday and sparked an outrage on social media.
