CCPO Lahore trying to protect the rapist?

Lahore, 10th September: A woman should not have walked alone on a deserted road in the middle of the night, CCPO Lahore told media today.
According to Baaghi TV reports, addressing the Gujjarpura rape case, CCPO Lahore said that a woman who had left for Gujranwala at 12.30 am should not have taken this route so late at night. She should have rather taken the straight GT Road.

It is evident from the above video what the CCPO said regarding the woman that what was she doing at such a late hour and that too on a deserted road. He emphasized that she should have taken a more populated road.

It is to be noted that a very tragic incident of a gang rape of a woman on the motorway took place in Gujjarpura area of Lahore yesterday.
Two men smashed a car window on the motorway and pulled the woman and her children out, then took them to nearby bushes and allegedly raped the woman in front of the children.

The accused also took Rs 100,000 in cash, gold jewellery and ATM cards.
People and famous personalities have expressed their anger over such a shocking incident and demand justice for the woman and her grieved children.

Instead of punishing the culprits, the blame is being put on the woman for taking the wrong and deserted route.
However, if this is the way our guardians think of protecting us, then who is going to save us from such predators in future!
