CDA holds two days long session with representatives of developers

Islamabad, August 25 (Online Int’l):  Capital Development Authority (CDA) held a two days long session with representatives of developers, builders and private housing societies at Jinnah Convention Centre Islamabad.

The session started on Monday and was held in the back drop of Prime Minister’s special package for construction and housing industry in the country. Chairman, Member Finance, Member Estate, Member Engineering, Director Urban Planning, Director Regional Planning, Director, BCS-I, Director BCS-II, Director Housing Societies and other relevant officers of Capital Development Authority attended the session on behalf of CDA. Representatives of Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and private housing societies also attended the session.

On first day, session was held with representatives of ABAD while on second day, the session was held with representatives of private housing societies.

In two days long session, all the issues related to construction and housing sectors were discussed at length. The representatives of ABAD and private housing societies candidly expressed all their problems and proposed solutions as well. Issues regarding approvals of building plans, Traffic assessment, Environment, building bylaws, graveyard levy charges, E-II projects, LOPs and insurance policy etc were discussed at length during the session.

During the session, it was informed from CDA side that the Authority has taken a series of measures in line with Prime Minister s special package for construction and housing industry in Islamabad.CDA recently auctioned Blue Area plots with special incentives for investors for starting construction at the earliest. Similarly Design Vetting Committee of the Authority is meeting on regular basis to approve the building designs. For investors having completed legal requirements, all engagements with CDA have been made time bound.

Another auction of commercial plots with special incentives is going to be held later in September. A new phase of park Enclave is also being launched along side auction of commercial plots. A new directorate with objective to provide speedy solution to business community problems is also being established. Apart from above mentioned steps, the issues discussed in the current session will be brought in black and white for further processing. Both the sides reaffirmed their resolve to positively contribute towards Prime Minister’s Package for housing and construction industry.
