Despite many inspiring stories of celebrities who came from nothing and worked their way out of financial hardship, the opposite also happens. From musicians to athletes to movie stars, sometimes fame and wealth result badly.

Here are 4 rich and famous celebrities who lost all of their money at one point in their careers.

Drake Bell

The actor who was very popular amongst kids and teenagers in the early 2000s wasn’t able to start a successful career ever since his show ‘Drake and Josh’ on Nickelodeon ended.

He started his music career but wasn’t able to make a lot of money from it as only 178 copies of his first album were sold and 2000 of his third. Ever since then, he has sold 1 million singles in the US but still wasn’t able to make a lot of money off of it.

He also couldn’t keep up with the payments he had to make of a house in 2007 due to which he had to sell it in 2014.

Chris Tucker

A very popular actor in the early 2000s who starred in many famous movies such as ‘Rush Hour’ with Jackie Chan and the fifth element.

There was also a point in his life when he was amongst one of the most highly paid actors in Hollywood. This glory of his came to an end when in 2014 the International Revenue Services (IRS) claimed that due to poor financial management he was 14 million dollars in debt.

Luckily for him, the government spared him jail time, and ever since that he has only starred in 2 movies and one show.

Rupert Grint

Perhaps one of the most known faces in the world, Rupert Grint, also known as ‘Ron’ from the movies of Harry Potter played his best friend’s role very well in 8 of the series.

He had to pay millions of dollars to the IRS due to poor financial management, he also testified that he didn’t even know how much money he had in his bank account.

Ever since Harry Potter, he has rarely been seen in any movie until his recent debut in a TV series.

Nicolas Cage

Although he has starred in many movies and has been one of the most famous Hollywood actors in the past few years, he also has gone broke and bankrupt.

The ‘Faceoff’ star has spent a lot of money on various exquisite luxuries such as buying his own private island, countless animals and two European castles, etc.

He also owes 14 million dollar taxes to IRS. In addition to this, he was also sued by his ex-wife for 13 million dollars and a real estate company as well.
