Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and National Assembly member Javed Latif has revealed that the then Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar acted as a facilitator for the PTI sit-in in 2014.
Speaking on a private news channel, Javed Latif said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar facilitated Prime Minister Imran Khan for rescuing people from police vans in the past, attacking PTV and entry into the red zone.
Last week, the former premier and PML-N stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also commented on ruling party PTI’s dharna. Abbasi during an interview to journalist Nadeem Malik on his show, said that it was very obvious that PTI was not the architect of 2014 dharna.
It may be recalled that the PTI had staged a 126-day sit-in at D-Chowk in Islamabad in 2014 over alleged rigging in the 2013 elections, during which protesters attacked PTV and parliament.
“I don’t want to name anyone, but it seemed like that establishment was not ‘happy’ with our government. Nobody told me but it is my personal observation that former DG ISI Zaheer-ul-Islam was behind the organisation of PTI’s dharna,” the former premier said.
