Chief Commissioner Islamabad ordered to submit details of assets

Lahore, 23rd July 2020: Accountability of the bureaucracy has begun and in this regard, the Chief Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ali Ahmed has been ordered to submit details of all his assets.

According to Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of accountability has now shifted from politicians to bureaucracy, which is why the Establishment Division has not yet declared its assets since joining the service.

Ordering them to submit details of their assets within a month, PM warned that action would be taken against them under the Civil Service Discipline and Efficiency Rules, 1973 for non-disclosure of assets within a month.

The Establishment Division has written in its letter that Amir Ali Ahmed, Chief Commissioner Islamabad has not disclosed his sources of income and assets since joining the civil service as per the provisions of the Government Servant Conduct Rules Act 1964 for civil servants.

For civil servants who are required to appear by June 30 of the year under section 12 of the Government Servant Conduct Rules Act, 1964, the assets must be declared by June 30. Therefore, Aamir Ali Ahmad should disclose the sources of income and assets from 1999 to 2019 within a month, otherwise disciplinary action will be taken.

According to responsible sources, the letter also said that the promotion of officers from Grade 18 to Grade 21 under Section 7 of the Service Rules Promotions Rules Magistrate 2019 would not be due to non-disclosure of assets. Upon receiving a copy of the letter, the Home Ministry also directed the Chief Commissioner Islamabad to implement the rules immediately.

It may be recalled that recently the names of Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat have come to light in the area of Koral police station under the patronage of big land mafia, on which both the officers blamed Additional Deputy Commissioner General Omar Randhawa.

Orders should be issued for their transfer, but upon learning of the facts, the Interior Ministry has stopped the implementation of the exchange and has started an investigation into the matter.

According to Baaghi TV, significant progress has been made in this regard that Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed Sharif is the son of Saeed Mehdi, a close associate of the Sharif brothers, while DC Hamza Shafqat is also the son of former SSP Chaudhry Shafqat, a close associate of the Sharif brothers.
