China took control of the US consulate?
Baaghi TV: China took control of the US consulate in Chengdu at 10 a.m. local time on Monday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced.
Earlier, the Chinese government on Friday ordered the closure of the consulate. The move comes in the wake of the US closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston.
On Sunday, several people turned up at the US Consulate in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu. They took pictures there and waved Chinese flags near it. A large number of security forces were present around the consulate on the occasion.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called the Chinese consulate in Houston a spy center and gave it 72 hours to close.
As a result, tensions between China and the United States have risen sharply. In response, China on Friday took similar action against the US Consulate in Chengdu, a city of 16 million people.
