Britney Spears’ Father Agrees to Step Down as Conservator

At long last, famous American singer Britney Spears’ father has agreed to step down as her conservator, agreeing to participate in transitioning to a new legal arrangement. 

Spears’ lawyer stated that it was “a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice”. However, despite this bit of good news for the singer, her father Jamie Spears’ lawyer has stated that there is no real grounds on which he needed to step down and no set date has been given for when he would give up his role.

The singer’s career has been being managed by her parents for years now, since 2008, which amounts to 13 years. In July, she refused to perform concerts again unless and until her father stopped controlling her estate, for which she filed a petition, to which her father’s lawyer responded that while Jamie Spears would be in a position to back down, he would only do so when the time was right and certain matters were taken care of.

Jamie Spears, according to reports, would work with the courts and his lawyer “to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator”.

Fellow celebrities are sharing in Spears’ joy, including heiress Paris Hilton, but certain fans are still on their guards, displaying skepticism regarding the news, wondering if it is another manipulation tactic.
