Chinese Amb. Mr. Nong Rong Calls on COAS For Important Meeting

Lahore, 31st August: His Excellency Mr. Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today.

According to reports from ISPR, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong visited the GHQ and during the meeting with COAS held on Tuesday, matters of mutual interest, developing Afghanistan situation and regional security were discussed in detail.

COAS reiterated the resolve to thwart designs of spoilers of CPEC.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially in the light of recent developments in Afghanistan and reiterated that China will continue to support Pakistan as a strategic partner.

According to ISPR, the meeting between the two leaders at the GHQ also reviewed the progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the regional security situation.
