According to sources, the protest caused a petroleum crisis in the city. Due to shortage of petrol in Lahore and areas adjacent to GT Road, supply of goods to more than 50 utility stores were also suspended due to protests, citizens continued to look for cheap ghee and sugar at utility stores.

According to the details, the citizens started paying the price for the protest of Tehreek-e-Libaik. Petroleum crisis erupted over road closures due to protests. Petrol pumps in many parts of the city could not get supply. PSO’s petrol pump in Tajpura scheme was closed due to non-availability of supply. There are also complaints of shortage of petrol in North Lahore area, Band Road, GT Road and adjoining areas.
