Lahore, July 31 (Online Int’l): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has extended greetings to the nation and appealed to celebrate Eid ul-Adha with simplicity due to the corona virus.

In his message, the CM expressed satisfaction that anti-corona steps have proved useful. However, the nation should remain watchful and follow the SOPs because it is the matter of the protection of human lives, he maintained.

We also pay tributes to those who have sacrificed their lives due to corona, he added. The CM said the Eid ul-Adha is the festival of sacrifice and sharing happiness.

It is our social obligation to help alleviate the indigent strata, he said. We should also commit to avoiding social evils like backbiting, hypocrisy and lies. The Pakistanis should show unswerving probity and leave behind the societal curse of criticism for the sake of criticism and levelling baseless allegations for the sake of allegations so that the country can move forward.

We should also remember the brave sons who have sacrificed their lives for the protection of the motherland, he added. He stressed that ensuring participation of the heirs of the martyrs in the joys of Eid is our collective responsibility. Similarly, we should also remember oppressed Kashmiris who are a continued victim of Indian state-sponsored tyranny in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). The mistreated Kashmiris are celebrating Eid under lockdown, being in place for the last 12 months, in Indian occupied Kashmir. They are hapless victims of tyrannic Indian policies, he deplored.

The CM added that he will follow corona SOPs and Eid will be celebrated with simplicity. The impact of coronavirus has been decreased but care is utmost essential and citizens should maintain social distancing on Eid. They should take care to avoid this virus, he added. During the last 24 hours, 218 have tested positive and two patients have died. More than 7.25 lac have been tested in Punjab so far and 82,526 have returned back home after recovery, he further added.
