Quetta, July 03 (Online Int’l): Federal Minister Asad Umar chaired the special session of the NCOC. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal being host of the session attended the special meeting of the NCOC. Provincial Chief Secretaries participated through video link.
CM Balochistan appreciated the NCOC for holding provincial sessions for better coordination and understanding of important issues. CM Balochistan said that the NCOC has played a vital role in interprovincial coordination, resource building and channelizing critical health care equipment and health care capacity building.
Mr Asad Umar appreciated the efforts of the Government of Balochistan and civil administration for ensuring compliance of guidelines and measures for public health & safety. The forum deliberated on the management of cattle markets on Eid Ul Azha and Eid Prayers. Mr Asad Umar reiterated that all stakeholders must endeavour to sensitise the masses regarding compliance with the SOPs for the cattle markets, Eid-ul-Adha, and Muharram. Mr Asad Umar said the next two weeks are very important. In case of non-compliance of SOPs serious repercussions may have to be faced in the coming months.
The efforts to create national and religious harmony to fight the pandemic have paid rich dividends. The current impetus gained must therefore be maintained to mitigate the multiple challenges. Decision making based on reliable data at the NCOC is a new normal. The practice of data collection, correlation, collation and informed decision-making helped in containment efforts.
