CM Balochistan fires SP Quetta over arrest of students

The Balochistan Chief Minister fired SP Quetta for arresting students protesting against online classes without internet access in Quetta and for behaving inappropriately.

It may be recalled that students in Quetta had protested against the holding of online classes of the university despite the lack of internet and other facilities.

The students also staged a protest rally from the press club and wanted to record a protest in front of the Balochistan Assembly. However, the police stopped the rally on the way and detained 65 students, including several female students.

 Police said the students have been detained for violating section 144.

 Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has taken action after criticizing the arrest of students and removed SP Quetta from his post and ordered the release of all students.

The Balochistan Chief Minister said that appropriate action would be taken against the constable who misbehaved with the female students.
