CM Punjab assures Kot Addu harassment victim will get justice

Aug 26, 2021: On the incident of mistreatment of wife in front of husband in Kot Addu, CM Punjab Usman Bazdar said that justice will be given to the victim under any circumstance.

The CM Punjab said he has heartfelt sympathy with the victim. On the complaint of the victim, RPO sought a report from Dera Ghazi Khan and said that protection should be provided to the victim.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar directed that an impartial inquiry should be held into the allegation of threatening the victim by a policeman. Action should be taken against the threatening policeman. The CM Punjab added that every effort should be made to provide timely justice to the victim.

It is to be noted that the police put pressure on the victims in the case of stripping a woman naked in Muzaffargarh. This became clear when the victim made a written plea for justice to the CM Punjab.

The victim was summoned to appear before Kot Addu police station on the 15th of this month. When she went to Kot police station, the victim was pressurised to provide to give up complaint, but when the victim refused, he was locked up in the police station for 5 hours and tortured.

Police admitted that 17 of the victim’s family and 23 supporters of the perpetrator were detained in the police station for a few hours. They were stripped naked and then sent away.

It should be noted that this tragic incident of undressing a pregnant woman in front of her husband in Muzaffargarh took place on August 8 when the pregnant woman was going home with her husband on a motorbike carrying medicine when five accused hit her on the way. The woman was stopped and tortured and stripped naked.
