CM Sindh inaugurates infectious diseases hospital in Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister (CM), Syed Murad Ali Shah, has inaugurated the infectious diseases hospital in NIPA, Karachi on July 5, 2020 (today).

According to CM Sindh, the infectious diseases hospital consists of 400 beds. The Sindh government has prepared blocks A and B of the hospital in the first phase. It will soon function as a 200-bed hospital.

NIPA Hospital has also been given the status of a research center and the ground and first floor of the hospital are currently under construction.

According to the Sindh Chief Minister, “Today the 54-bed hospital has become functional and there is an 8-bed emergency facility on the ground floor of the hospital.

A 16-bed ICU with ventilators has been set up in the hospital while 34 DHU beds have also been arranged in it. He said the facility would soon be provided another 23 ICU and 88 DHU beds. It’ll soon start functioning as a 200-bed hospital, CM Shah added.
