Corona virus vaccine approved for 3 year olds in China

Beijing June 6, 2021: China has approved the use of the coronavirus vaccine for children up to the age of 3, the first country in the world to approve vaccination for children under this age.

According to the international website, China has become the first country in the world to approve the emergency use of the Code 19 vaccine for children under 3 years of age. China has approved the use of the corona virus vaccine, developed by SinoVac Biotech, for children. The decision was made after various reports indicated that the rate of transmission of code 19 from children and adolescents was the same as that of adults.

So far, countries around the world, such as Singapore, the United States and Europe, have approved the use of covid vaccines for children 12 years of age or older, but children under that age are not yet vaccinated. On June 4, Yin Weidong, chief executive of SinoVac Biotech, told Chinese media that the company had conducted a clinical study in children, which began in early 2021, with the first and second phases Clinical trials completed.

Hundreds of cases have shown that the 3- to 17-year-olds received the same protection as the 18-year-olds after the vaccination, he said. The World Health Organization recently gave emergency approval for the use of the SinoVac vaccine for adults.

He did not say how many children were involved in the trials, but said the vaccine was as effective and safe in children as it was in adults. He said the same vaccine could be used in the same amount for children aged 3 to 17. Keep in mind that the severity of symptoms is usually mild in children infected with covid 19.
