Coronavirus: Chinese Delegation visit CM Sindh amid virus concerns

Chinese doctors reportedly visit Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, concerning the threat of COVID-19 in Sindh, Pakistan.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, a nine member high-level delegation of Chinese doctors has met with the Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah. Reportedly, Sindh’s Provincial Health Minister, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah appreciated China for having overcome the Coronavirus while offering condolences, for the loss of lives due to the novel virus. Shah said that, Pakistan needs the guidance of Chinese health officials to control the coronavirus in Pakistan, meanwhile, we are increasing our testing capability. He added that, Pakistan needs rapid testing machinery and kits from China, as we have very limited resources, so we can only do up to 2,040 tests per day.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the Chinese delegation informed the Chief Minister that the Chinese government wishes to provide all kinds of assistance to the Sindh government. Moreover, the delegation advised people to open the windows of their homes to get access to natural air.

Chief Minister Sindh said that Coronavirus patients have appeared even without symptoms. To which the Chinese medical team said that such patients also need to be in isolation. Additionally, they stressed that the distribution of rations should not be crowded and that the public must demonstrate discipline.

The delegation further added that the virus will not end unless the people of Pakistan demonstrate social distance and discipline.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had confirmed that in the last 24 hours, 50 more patients of Coronavirus have been reported. Today, 2 people lost their lives in the war against Coronavirus. There have been 20 deaths so far due to the Coronavirus. We have done 758 tests in the last 24 hours, so the number of tests so far is 10,981.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah further said that after the emergence of the 50 new cases, the total number of cases in Sindh has increased to 1,036. From these, approximately 382 patients have been isolated in homes, while 97 patients are kept in different isolation centers.

Chief Minister Sindh further said that we are trying our best to enhance the test capability. Lockdown is strictly ordered; you should be careful, if we do not help ourselves, no one will help us. He added that Shab-e-Miraj is a night of forgiveness and mercy, may the Lord Almighty bless our earth and save us from troubles. I urge the people to pray for the elders and country and nation while staying in their homes on the night of the nights.

We can get rid of the Coronavirus just by observing social distance. The scholars are requested to speak on the virtues of Shab-e-Miraj through the TV channels. Murad Ali Shah, further reiterated that the people are advised to take social distancing seriously and stay in their homes.
