Coronavirus death rate rises in the UK

Officials in the UK say there have been 100 more deaths from the corona virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 43,514.

With 890 new victims in the country, the total number has risen to 310,250.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the development of the vaccine will be a victory for humanity.

 “The disease is still spreading around the world,” he told the Global Online Summit.  The race for vaccines, better treatments and faster and more reliable testing must continue.

He called on world leaders to ensure that the vaccine is available to all.
