Coronavirus: Death toll rises in Pakistan

Lahore (16th April, 2020): Number of reported cases and death toll rises for COVID-19 rises in Pakistan.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the number of Coronavirus cases in Pakistan, has increased. The number of confirmed COVID-19 patients is reportedly, 6,505 while the death toll has also risen to 124, across Pakistan.

As per the National Command and Operation Center, approximately 510 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, alone. Punjab has the highest number of cases at 3,217 while Sindh has 1,668. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 912 and Balochistan has 280. In addition to this, Gilgit-Baltistan has 237 cases, Islamabad has 145 and Azad Kashmir has 46 new cases.

It is to be noted that so far Pakistan has successfully tested 78,979 people. In the last 24 hours 5,540 new tests have been performed. As per reports, 1,645 patients have so far recovered while 39 patients are believed to be in critical condition.

The Coronavirus death toll in Pakistan has risen to 124 confirmed deaths. So far the ratio is:

  • 41 deaths in Sindh
  • 34 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • 3 in Gilgit-Baltistan
  • 3 in Balochistan
  • 1 in Islamabad

In addition to this, 462 patients are currently under treatment in hospital-based quarantine with almost 7,295 beds in each hospital.
