Coronavirus: First death in Balochistan: 804 cases nationwide

The number of coronavirus cases across the country has reached 804, while the country has been locked down to prevent the deadly virus.

On Sunday, 166 cases of coronavirus were reported in the country. 86 were reported in Punjab, 60 in Sindh, 16 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 4 in Balochistan. While one death each was reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

First death toll confirmed in Balochistan

On Sunday, four new coronavirus cases were reported in the province, which took the total number of cases to 108.

Later that day, Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani confirmed the first death in the province. According to Shahwani, a 66-year-old patient was killed in Fatima Jinnah Hospital, Quetta.

Coronavirus: Total toll reached 757 in Pakistan

Punjab

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has reached 225, which was confirmed by Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar via Twitter.

According to Buzdar, there are 175 cases in DG Khan, 34 in Lahore, 4 each in Gujrat and Gujranwala. Moreover, Jhelum has 3 reported cases, Multan and Rawalpindi have two cases each while only one case in Sargodha.

Islamabad

According to government portal, four more cases were confirmed taking the total count to 15 in Islamabad, on Monday.

PM Pakistan not in favor of the emergency lockdown

Sindh

In Sindh, 60 cases have been reported, after which the total number of cases has reached 352 in the province.

According to the Sindh government spokesman, coronavirus has been confirmed in 24 more people in Karachi, after which the number of affected people in the city has increased to 129 while one patient is from Hyderabad.

The spokesman said that the coronavirus was confirmed in Dadu last week as a citizen returned from Iran last week. 34 more cases of coronavirus have been reported at the quarantine center in Sukkur for the visitors coming from Taftan.

Furthermore, 4 patients have recovered in Sindh, 3 from Karachi and 1 from Hyderabad while one death was reported.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Third death was reported in the province yesterday, which was confirmed by the CM’s Information Adviser, Ajmal Khan Wazir.

So far 3 people have died from the coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), advisory information said at a press conference.

A total of 171 suspected cases have been reported in KPK, but only 32 of them have been confirmed yet.

Lucman adamant for the emergency lockdown

Gilgit

Yesterday, 16 more cases of coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) were reported, taking the total to 71 cases. Information Minister Shams Mir said that the number of coronavirus patients in GB has increased from 55 to 71.

In GB, Osama Riaz passed away, who was a doctor himself and was affected during the screening of coronavirus patients. Information Department GB also confirmed the death and said that the martyr will be given the status of national hero by the government.

Azad Kashmir

There has been only one reported case of coronavirus in Azad Kashmir while the state government has appealed to the citizens to be cautious.
