Coronavirus: Mubasher Lucman to meet with PM Khan, discuss COVID-19

Lahore (20th mar, 2020): Senior talk-show host and anchorperson, Mubasher Lucman reportedly to meet up with Pakistan’s Premier, Imran Khan to address growing concerns of Coronavirus, COVID-19. 

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the senior anchorperson in a recent video has highlighted that he hopes to meet up with the Prime Minister to address critical concerns being missed out by the government of Pakistan. Although he stressed that his focus is not to criticize the government aimlessly, rather he hopes that raising such significant arguments can lead to improvement in government administered actions to tackle and contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19.

In the approximately twenty-two minutes longs video, the investigative journalist analysed the socio-politico-economic concerns pertaining to the rising concern of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mubasher Lucman, has claimed in the video that at the moment the virus has not reached Pakistan at its peak, rather there is a concern that the country will be hit harder with many more positive cases surfacing.

The anchorperson referred to the Pakistani students stuck in Wuhan who had shared messages and videos appealing to the government to let them return from China, however, the government had decided not to bring back its students on cited reasons of being unable to contain the virus in case it would spread fully across the state.

Moreover, Mubasher Lucman stressed on the inefficiency of the first-world countries to contain the virus despite possessing he best medical facilities and/or equipment. He added that this means that despite the rising number of cases surfacing across Pakistan, it means that we are doing more than the best of our abilities as a third-world state in comparison to countries like the United States and United Kingdom.

The journalist also spoke against the crash of the stock market and urged the government of Pakistan to close down the stock market to protect the national investors against unnecessary loss. He further added that the state is inevitably heading towards a total lockdown while already having initiated a partial lockdown in the form of suspending public transport, academic institutes, shopping centers and others et cetera.

COVID-19, threatening the healthcare workers

Moreover, Mubasher Lucman discussed the negligent attitude of State Bank of Pakistan’s Raza Bakir, who was more concerned about the states financial loss instead of the lives lost due to the COVID-19. He also stressed the looming unemployment of daily-wage workers such as laborers, gas station workers and others respectively who will greatly suffer due to the unavailability of wages to survive.

In addition to this, he highlighted the issue of using hand-sanitizers and cleanliness in homes, stressing that women while at home especially when cooking should steer clear of sanitizers as they posses alcohol content which is extremely dangerous near burning stoves and open flames, respectively.

Most significantly, Mubasher Lucman highlighted the need for the government to rework their policies to facilitate all members of society in a better way. He stressed the need to maintain proper hygiene and while in public by means of changing face masks, and.or gloves as frequently as well instead of using the same again and again.
