Coronavirus: Pakistan toll reaches 2880, with a death toll of 45
Lahore, 5th April: With a lockdown imposed and possible safety measures being taken in the country, the number of coronavirus patients is still on the rise in Pakistan.
According to the government website, 839 people in Sindh, 1072 in Punjab, 343 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 193 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 175 in Balochistan, 75 in Islamabad, 11 people in Azad Kashmir are infected with the novel coronavirus. It is reported that 131 new cases have been infected within 24 hours and with the addition of 4 more deaths the death toll has reached 45 in Pakistan.
So far 11 people have been killed with the deadly disease in Punjab, while 14 in Sindh, 12 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 in Gilgit Baltistan and 1 in Balochistan has been reported dead.
Coronavirus: Toll in Punjab increased to 1,069
In Punjab, there are 4 deaths reported in Lahore district, 3 in Rawalpindi and Rahim Yar Khan and Faisalabad have 1 each. All the deaths in Sindh have occurred in Karachi.
Qaiser Asif, the spokesman from the Punjab Health Department has confirmed 149 new cases in the province, after which the number of victims in the province has crossed 1072. New cases include 3 prisoners from Camp Jail Lahore.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that till now 17069 tests have been conducted regarding coronavirus in Punjab. In the private sector, 7312 tests have been performed. A total of 6 patients have recovered so far in the province.
Coronavirus continues to intensify around the world. There are reportedly 1,201,964 cases in 204 countries around the world and 64,727 have been killed, while 246,638 people have recovered.
The highest number of cases are in the United States, where the number of infected patients is 311,357. The death toll has risen to 8,452 in the US.
