Pakistan (11th Feb, 2020): Pakistani court makes major decision regarding Pakistani citizens in China. 

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Islamabad High Court holds hearing of case pertaining to government action in relation to Coronavirus.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah reportedly questioned why the state is not focused on deporting its citizens from China. He added, Will the state swear an oath not to expel the citizenry? Other countries including Bangladesh are focused on expelling their citizens from China. The Chief Justice further argued, “If Bangladesh can expel its citizens, why not Pakistan?”

A representative for the Ministry of Health stated that it was decided to isolate the victims of coronavirus due to a lack of vaccine to which the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court reportedly questioned why Pakistani citizens are not being expelled.

Thereby, the court has ordered the deportation of Pakistani nationals residing in China.

On the other hand, almost 108 people have been killed by the deadly coronavirus in mainland China, the total number has risen to 1,166. It is believed that the number of people affected by the virus has reached an almost 42,638. So far, 103 fatalities [the highest till date] have been reported in the province of Hubei, following which the number of coronavirus death toll has reached 1,166 with almost 2500 new cases emerging.

Dr. Zafar Mirza, Prime Minister’s Assistant Special National Health Minister, has stated that the coronavirus has ensured coordination within the provinces. He added that an emergency operation cell has been created at the Ministry of Health, which is aimed at monitoring the latest situation pertaining to the coronavirus. Additionally, the core group monitors the situation on a daily basis to ensure an implementation of decisions on a daily basis.

Dr. Zafar Mirza further stated that the screening system has been strengthened at all airports and destinations, with international agencies assuring of full cooperation.

He also stated that four viruses such as the coronavirus are already present, however, there are no specific symptoms of coronavirus which is difficult to diagnose without proper diagnostics in the laboratory. He further added that the coronavirus is a breast infection that leads to pneumonia, in the case of coronavirus transmitted from one human to another, however, the death rate for it it very low.
