Senior Pakistani doctor passes away from COVID-19, according to reports of Baaghi TV.

A senior professor at the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has died of the coronavirus. Prof. Dr. Javed was diagnosed with Coronavirus a few days prior to his passing.

A spokesman for the Hayatabad Medical Complex said that Prof. Dr. Javed was also suffering from kidney disease.

Earlier, doctors had died of coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan and Sindh, while more than 250 medical personnel across the country have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 25 members of the medical staff, including doctors and nurses, have contracted COVID-19.

The Provincial Doctors Association has revealed that the victims include: 12 doctors, 8 nurses and 5 paramedics, one from Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar, two doctors from Ayub Teaching Hospital, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director Public Health and DHO Malakand, respectively.

Doctors at four government hospitals in Timergara, Bannu, Mardan and Peshawar have also been infected with the coronavirus. A doctor at a private hospital in Peshawar’s North West also tested positive for COVID-19. Eight nurses from different hospitals in the province have also been diagnosed with coronavirus.

DHQ Mardan’s ward boy has reportedly also died due to contraction of COVID-19.
