Lahore (11th Oct, 2019): Court announces final verdict for Ali Zafar, Meesha Shafi Harassment-Defamation Case.
According to reports, the Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar case which started the #MeToo movement in Pakistan since the last few years. Upon the courts dismissal of Shafi’s harassment case, Zafar filed a case of defamation against his colleague and long time friend. It was reported that Shafi filed another case while Zafar’s case hearings proceeded. As per reports, Meesha Shafi’s latest case against Zafar has also been rejected by the court.

Moreover, Shafi had challenged the verdict of the Punjab Governor against Ali Zafar in August of 2018 concerning harassment allegations Shafi had placed on Ali Zafar.
The recent dismissal of Shafi’s case comes as a huge win for Ali Zafar and his loved ones, including Zafar’s fans and followers.
Reports confirm that Zafar’s council, Barrister Ambreen Qureshi took to Twitter to announce the verdict stating, that the Lahore High Court exonerates Ali Zafar “for the third time!”. She continued to congratulate the singer and his wife commending them for their efforts, “The way you guys fought this will go down in history”.

Reportedly, Ali Zafar and his wife expressed their gratitude to their team that helped them in this difficult time. Zafar tweeted, “This is the 3rd dismissal. Fake allegations by opportunists can destroy lives & undermine genuine victims”. Zafar went on to add that following the recent verdict by the Lahore High Court, evidence will be shared with the public.

Even, renowned Pakistani talk show host, Mubasher Lucman, shared his sentiments on the issue. According to reports, the anchorperson tweeted, “What a disgrace this fake allegation has been. Meesha obviously had never thought her allegations would be challenged and exposed”. He continued to echo Zafar’s notion that Shafi’s fake allegations “damage the real victims more than she can ever imagine”.
