Lahore, 3rd May: Physical remand of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Javed Latif has been extended.
A court in Lahore on Monday extended the physical custody of Javed Latif for four more days under the case of allegedly giving anti-state remarks.
According to reports, the police presented the MNA before the court after his previous physical remand expired today.
The police requested the court to extend his custody further as Latif was still to pass the polygraph (lie detector) test.
Javed Latif’s lawyer opposed the plea for the extension of his physical remand stating that there is no need to put his client under a lie detector machine.
However, the prosecutor maintained that the polygraphic test is mandatory to complete the investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that last week, the Lahore court had approved a five-day physical remand of Javed Latif after police took him into custody o April 27.
