Court summons Cynthia D Richie
Lahore, 9th June: Islamabad court has summoned the American blogger Cynthia D Richie on charges against the late Pakistan People’s Party leader and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
According to Baaghi TV, Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani, as a duty judge, heard the application for registration of a case against Cynthia Richie, an American citizen.
Petitioner PPP Islamabad President Shakeel Abbasi took the position that the American woman made baseless allegations against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. A case should be registered against her.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has opposed the lawsuit against Cynthia de Richie. The FIA told the court that the court would also have to look into whether the petitioners were directly affected, to which Judge Ata Rabbani remarked that it was not your job to look into the matter. Richie is also called to the next hearing.
FIA files reply to Cynthia D. Ritchie’s request for registration of case
Seeking a reply from PTA, the court issued notice to Cynthia de Richie to present herself or her lawyer. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 13.
It should be noted that Cynthia Richie, an American woman blogger based in Pakistan, has made serious allegations against the top leadership of the PPP.
In her video message, Cynthia Richie accused Senator Rehman Malik of raping her and said that the incident happened in 2011 when he was the Federal Minister of Home Affairs.
Cynthia Ritchie also claimed in her video that former health minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin and former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had also manhandled her during the Presidentship of Asif Ali Zardari.
Cynthia has been exposing the PPP for several days, PPP officials have also submitted petitions against the American woman to the FIA, DG ISI, Senator Rehman Malik, Senator Sehar Kamran.

Earlier, the PPP had filed a petition against Cynthia Richie, a foreign woman active on social media, in the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The petition was filed by Cynthia Richie for making insulting and slanderous tweets against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The complaint, filed by PPP Islamabad President and Advocate High Court Shakeel Abbasi, alleges that a woman known as Haria Cynthia de Richie on Twitter shared information about Benazir Bhutto from her Twitter account and posted extremely insulting and nonsensical comments.
The petition states that her false, baseless, defamatory and slanderous tweets have caused great pain and suffering to Benazir Bhutto’s fans in Pakistan. He called on the FIA to take immediate legal action against Cynthia Richie.
