COVID-19: 8 doctors of the same hospital infected

Karachi, 1st May: With the pandemic wreaking havoc across Pakistan, not only common people are being affected but our front line doctors and nurses are also infected with the deadly disease.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, 8 doctors at Indus Hospital in Karachi have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

According to the Indus Hospital management, these doctors were performing their duties during the coronavirus emergency. Six doctors were rushed to the emergency room and two to the corona ward. All affected doctors have been asked to stay at home in quarantine. Despite the shortage of 8 doctors, emergency operations have been resumed and patients are being treated.

Diagnosis of coronavirus in the officer who met the Governor of Sindh

In the last 24 hours, 39 more health professionals across the country have been infected with corona. In the last 24 hours, 17 doctors and 6 nurses have been confirmed to be corona positive.

6 doctors from Balochistan, 13 paramedics, one hospital employee from Islamabad, 8 doctors from KP, 1 nurse, one hospital employee, one doctor from Punjab, 5 nurses, one hospital employee, two doctors from Sindh are confirmed positive corona cases so far.

In the last 24 hours, two doctors from corona have died in the country both the doctors are from Sindh.

 

Many doctors in Punjab have been diagnosed with the coronavirus due to the government’s failure to provide adequate protective equipment to medical staff. At least 25 members of the medical staff at Nishtar Hospital in Multan have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
