COVID-19: Continuous rise in deaths and cases across Pakistan

According to Baaghi TV reports, the second wave of corona continues in the country, as patients and deaths due to COVID-19 continue to rise.

There have been 44 deaths from corona in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 3119 new patients have emerged. The total number of deaths from corona in Pakistan has risen to 8,303, while the total number of patients has reached 413,191.

According to the NCOC, 352,529 Corona patients have recovered and 52,359 are undergoing treatment in Pakistan. The highest number of deaths due to corona is in Punjab where 3,137 people have lost their lives. There have been 2,991 deaths in Sindh, 1,399 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 334 in Islamabad, 98 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 169 in Balochistan and 175 in Azad Kashmir.

The number of corona cases in Islamabad is 31,992, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 48,683, in Sindh 180,904, in Punjab 122,293. 17,392 people in Balochistan, 7,219 in Azad Kashmir and 4,708 in Gilgit-Baltistan have been affected by corona.

Nationwide, the number of positive cases of corona virus rose to 8.16%. Karachi ranks first in the rate of Corona positive cases with 20.12%. According to the NCOC, the positive case rate in Hyderabad was 18.43%, Abbottabad has 14.53%, Azad Kashmir 11.09%, Balochistan 12.5%, Gilgit-Baltistan 4.7%, Islamabad 6.6%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.6% and Sindh 14.1%.

Corona is spreading in 15 cities across the country, according to the NCOC. Eighty percent of corona cases in Pakistan were reported from eleven major cities.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant for Health, said that the second wave of corona virus has gradually started in Pakistan. To deal with the second wave, SOPs will have to be strictly adhered to. By taking precautions we can deal with the second wave of corona.
