COVID-19, death toll rises in Pakistan as smart-lockdown imposed

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the second wave of Corona virus continues in Pakistan. There have been 23 deaths in the last 24 hours, meanwhile 1,637 new patients have emerged.

According to the NCOC, the death toll from corona in Pakistan has risen to 7,000. However, the total number of patients has reached 346,476. In Pakistan, 319,431 patients of Corona have recovered, and 20,045 are undergoing treatment.

The number of corona patients in Sindh is 150,834. 107,329 in Punjab, 40,843 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,110 in Islamabad, 16,152 in Balochistan, 4,830 in Azad Kashmir, and 4,378 patients have come forward in Gilgit.

The National Command and Operations Center has made it mandatory to wear a mask to prevent corona virus in Pakistan. Citizens must wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks must be worn by those working in government and private sector offices. Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, and restaurants, respectively.

On the other hand, in view of the increasing cases of Corona virus, the Punjab government has imposed smart lockdown in different areas of Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. A notification has been issued which will remain in force till November 19th.

To deal with the second wave of Corona across Pakistan, Smart Lockdown has been implemented in New Muslim Town C Block, Iqbal Town Raza Block, Sikandar Block and Umar Block in Lahore. Affected areas include Garden Town, Cavalry Ground, DHA Phase-1 A Block and Phase 6.

In five areas of Multan, Naqshband Colony, Gulgasht Colony, Mepco Colony, Multan Kachehri and Saadat Colony, Smart Lockdown has also been implemented. Meanwhile, lockdown will also remain in 4 areas of Rawalpindi. According to the notification, all markets in Smart Lockdown areas will be open from 9 am to 7 pm.
