COVID-19: Gilgit-Baltistan in need of help

Lahore, 24th March: The coronavirus has challenged the whole humanity and brought them together to fight against a common cause, but the disease is spreading rapidly and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
Pakistan is facing the biggest challenge with limited resources and facilities in the country, but with certain care and precautions as ordered by our government, we can stop the further spread of the disease.
Pak Army has been called by the government to assist in this task, and our armed force has stepped forward to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Coronavirus: Pak army summoned to take over
According to the reports of Baaghi TV, Gilgit-Baltistan is one such undeveloped area of Pakistan where the virus is creating havoc, causing many people to fall prey to the coronavirus.
As per the reports, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) is 80, 509 is the number of unconfirmed cases and 1 death has been reported from GB of the Shaheed doctor Usama Riaz, who laid his life in the line of duty.
Due to the difficult terrain and far-flung areas and accessibility issues, GB needs quick attention. With the increase in the number of cases rapidly, the control has been handed over to the Pak Army. Measures to increase the number of patients that can be treated in the hospital are being taken in DHQ Gilgit, DHQ Skardu, and DHQ Chilas.

The Federal government alone will not be able to handle the situation in GB, so the Army has taken control and with the assistance of the local government, will do their best in carrying out the situation.
According to the COAS, General Qamar Jawed Bajwa, “Pakistan Army is cognizant of the challenges facing the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. We are working closely with GB Govt and civil administration to provide all possible support while additional resources are being arranged on a war footing.”
He also states, “in conjunction with Federal Government. We will never leave the people of GB alone in these challenging times. Pakistanis will fight against COVID-19 as one”.
