India cannot defeat Coronavirus, Indian medical experts slam Modi government, according to reports.

According to Baaghi TV, Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in India. The Indian government has reduced testing to show a lower number of COVID-19 positive patients, which is why medical experts say, we cannot beat corona if the tests are less.

Doctors say that if Coronavirus is to be defeated, the testing facilities will have to be increased. However, India has reduced the testing facility in many of its states. In West Bengal and Bihar, only 230 and 267 people out of a population of approximately one million have been tested, respectively.

According to a report, the situation in West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh is very bad with regards to the coronavirus. These states are 25 percent behind the national average in terms of corona tests. Corona tests have been performed on more than one million people in India so far, and at the same time the tests have increased to 818 per one million population. However, fewer tests are being conducted in West Bengal and Bihar.

The figures released by the Indian Council of Medical Research following the growing number of coronavirus patients across India are alarming. After West Bengal and Bihar, the situation in Uttar Pradesh is not looking very good. There are 429 tests for every 1 million population, compared to just 642 in Madhya Pradesh.

The Indian Ministry of Health says that in many states, it is taking time because the proper testing kits are not available. It is clear that, if the states test correctly, the number of COVID-19 patients can be seen. Medical experts have expressed grave concern over the lack of tests.

It should be noted, that the lockdown is in force in India till May 17. The Modi government has decided to maintain the lockdown across India for two more weeks due to the coronavirus. The Indian government says the lockdown will continue for another two weeks after May 4. Where the risk will be reduced, the lockdown will be eased, they said. Under the new orders, the lockdown will remain in effect until May 17.

India is one of the few countries that has imposed strict travel bans in the wake of the Corona epidemic. Following the lockdown, which began on March 25, trains across the country were also banned.
