KARACHI: Port city residents disregard section-144 implemented by provincial government for public safety as they commute and shop.

According to reports, traffic has been visible on the city’s main highways Rashid Minhas Road, Sharah-e-Faisal, University Road since the beginning of the lockdown after the Sindh government announced relaxation for several sectors.

According to sources, there is now a lot of evidence on social media about how people care about government restrictions on Tariq Road in Karachi. According to Karachi police spokesman Qamar Zeb Taqi, police have set up checkpoints at 200 places in the city and are patrolling various areas to implement the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He said that hundreds of people have been arrested so far for violating section-144.

On the other hand, the number of cases of local transmission of Coronavirus in Karachi is increasing day by day. Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah, said that 45 cases of local relocation were reported in Karachi on Monday. Lack of caution on social media is the main reason for the increase in cases of local migration.
