
The Government of the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has issued a notification pertaining to the discontinuation of isolation and hospital discharge criteria for the patients of COVID-19.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) has on the basis of updated technical information as well as on the recommendations of the Corona Expert Advisory Group (CEAG) and the Technical Working Group (TWG), issued a standard “revised criteria” concerning the “discontinuation of isolation and discharge from hospital for COVID-19 patients”.
As per the latest notification, a patient may be discharged and/or allowed to end their social isolation in conformance with the approved and updated criteria to prevent the spread of the novel virus. Reportedly, an asymptomatic patient may “continue to adhere” to the precautions of isolation “for at least 10 days” while, symptomatic patients must continue to isolate for 10 days and for 3 days after the resolution of symptoms including: fever, no or improved respiratory symptom such as dry cough, breathing problems, respectively.
