COVID-19: Rise in number of cases detected in a day across Pakistan

LAHORE (24th September, 2020): Latest figures released by the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) show a rise in the number of cases detected in a single day, with confirmation of over seven hundred new cases.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, 799 people tested COVID-19 positive on the 23rd of September while, 5 people lost their lives during the last 24 hours. 3 deaths were reported in the hospital and 2 patients died out of hospital on the 23rd of September. Total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan have reached 7,388 as of 24th September.

It is to be noted that 42,299 tests were conducted on the 23rd of September with Sindh at 18,360, Punjab at 11,053, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) at 4,627, Islamabad at 6,149, Balochistan at 1,333, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) at 216, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) at 561. So far, 294,392 people have recovered within Pakistan, making it a significant count.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, there is no patient on ventilator in AJK & Balochistan while, 103 ventilators are currently occupied across Pakistan out of 1,912 ventilators allocated for COVID-19 patients in the country.

A total of 308,217 cases detected so far with AJK at 2,591, Balochistan at 14,765, GB at 3,572, Islamabad at 16,288, KP at 37,470, Punjab at 98,686, Sindh at 134,845. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 6,437 deaths across the country. Accroding to reports, Sindh is at 24,71 (2 Died out of hospital on 23rd September), Punjab is at 2,229 (2 Died in hospital on 23rd September), KP is at 1,258 (no deaths), Islamabad is at 181 (1 Died in hospital on 23rd September), Balochistan is at 145 (no deaths), GB is at 83 (no deaths), AJK is at 70 (no deaths).

According to reports of Baaghi TV, 3,306,515 tests have been conducted since the outbreak spread across Pakistan, meanwhile, 735 hospitals are currently providing COVID-19 facilities to almost 872 patients admitted across the country.
