COVID-19: Survey reveals how many doctors not ready to get the jab

Lahore, 2nd March: A recent survey in Pakistan finds that 81% of doctors are ready to get vaccinated against coronavirus, however, 14% of health officials have refused to get vaccinated.

According to reports from Geo News, a recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan found that about 81% of the doctors in Pakistan are ready to get vaccinated, while 14% of the health professionals have refused to be vaccinated.

More than 500 doctors across the country were surveyed in collaboration with Gallup Pakistan of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association.

The survey found that 59% of the people said that the vaccine was not yet available, and 41% said they had already been given the COVID-19 vaccine shot.

The survey also recorded that 74% of the doctors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa complained that the vaccine was being inaccessible to them.

It was also revealed in the survey that 68% of doctors informed they were not infected with coronavirus, while 32% said they had contracted it.

Baaghi TV reported a couple of days back that the health professionals in Punjab appear reluctant to get vaccinated against coronavirus as only 35 pc of the staff have been vaccinated despite a period of 23 days.

Sources said, “Only 45,000 doses out of total doses of 2,75000 have been consumed so far. A large number of health professionals are reluctant to get vaccinated against the deadly virus till the situation regarding the side effects becomes clear.”

It is to be noted that on February 2, Prime Minister Imran Khan has started Pakistan’s coronavirus vaccination drive, reiterating the need to take precautions.
