COVID-19: The virus toll has soared to 4,322 in Pakistan

Lahore, 9th April: The deadly pandemic which erupted from Wuhan, China in Dec 2019 has affected more than 1,523,898 people and more than 88, 956 have been reported dead around the world.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Pakistan is showing a sudden increase in the affected people due to novel coronavirus, despite the lockdown imposed in the country.

As reported by the spokesperson of the Corona National Command and Operation Centre, with the addition of 248 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the toll has spiked to 4,322 and the death toll has reached up to 63.

The total number of confirmed cases according to the provinces is as follow:

The outbreak in Punjab is still taking the lead with a number of 2,171 confirmed cases, 1,036 have been reported in Sindh, 560 in KP, 212 in Balochistan, 213 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 102 cases are reported from the Capital Territory Islamabad, and 28 are reported from AJK so far.

It has been reported that 56% of the confirmed people are from other countries, whereas, 44% are the local citizens.

The number of people recovered from COVID-19 is 572 in Pakistan and the reported deaths are 63, with 5 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

There are 20 number of reported deaths from the province of Sindh, 17 have died in Punjab, 20 in KP, 2 in Balochistan have died so far, 3 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1 has died in Islamabad.

As per reports submitted by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, the number of total tests conducted in the country is 44,896 with 2,737 new tests done in the last 24 hours.

There are 462 hospitals in the country with the isolation facilities and 7,295 beds available. A total of 1,403 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized so far with 31 in critical state. There are 332 quarantine facilities available in Pakistan, where 17,448 people are kept under observation.

There is a lockdown imposed in the country in order to contain the spread of the virus. The government is supposed to deliver relief packages to the thousands of needy today and a sum of Rs 12,000 will be provided to 1.2 million people in the next coming days.
