COVID-19: Virus gains speed in Pakistan

Lahore (2nd May, 2020): Coronavirus continues to gain speed in Pakistan. Positive cases increase, mortality rate also rises.

According to Baaghi TV, there has been an increase in coronavirus patients across Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan, 1,297 patients have come forward in one day. The total number of patients has reached 18,114.

The death toll in Pakistan has risen to 417. Punjab has the highest number of 6,733, Sindh 6,675, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2,799 and Balochistan 1,136, Islamabad 364, Gilgit-Baltistan 340 and Azad Kashmir 66 crore. 4,717 people have reportedly been infected with the coronavirus.

There were 32 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in Pakistan to 417. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa topped the list in terms of deaths:

  • 161 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • 118 in Sindh
  • 115 in Punjab
  • 16 in Balochistan
  • 3 in Gilgit-Baltistan 
  • 4 in Islamabad

Reportedly, 400 people have recovered in 24 hours across the country. After which the number of those who recovered was 4,715.

  • 2,205 people recovered in Punjab
  • 1,295 in Sindh
  • 690 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • 183 in Balochistan
  • 255 in Gilgit-Baltistan 
  • 44 in Islamabad
  • 43 patients in Azad Kashmir
