As Omicron fears rise, NCOC issues fresh directives for flights from UK to Pakistan

July 25, 2021: Minister for Planning and National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) Head Asad Umar said that the total number of Covid19 vaccines administered so far has now crossed 25 million.

In a tweet, the minister wrote, “The total number of vaccinators has now crossed 2 and a half crore. More acceleration is planned for August. By the end of August, the goal of all major cities is to protect at least 40% of the population from polio. The total number of corona virus cases in Pakistan has crossed one million and the number of deaths has crossed 23,000. During the 24 hours, the country had a positivity rate of 6.32%.”

In the past 24 hours, 45 patients have died from Covid19, bringing the total number of deaths to 23,016, according to the National Command and Operations Center. The NCOC says that in the last 24 hours, 2,819 new cases of corona virus have been reported, bringing the total number of cases in the country to more than one million. The total number of patients recovering from corona virus in the country has reached 925,958.

According to the NCOC, 44,579 tests for Covid19 were performed in the last 24 hours. So far, 1,56,67,114 tests have been conducted in the country.

The NCOC said that in the last 24 hours, the Covid19 positive incidence rate in the country was 6.32%, while 2,573 cases of coronavirus in 631 hospitals across the country were alarming.
