CPEC is better than taking loans, Asim Saleem Bajwa

According to the report of Baghi TV, Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that we had orders. CPEC is very important for us, no project should be stopped.

Briefing the standing committee, Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the government sat down with Azad Kashmir and signed more than 100 projects. Our plan is to bring in investors which is better than taking loans.We plan to set up a Hydel power project for affordable electricity as The Kohala Power Project was signed last week.

Asim Saleem Bajwa further said that Gwadar has a 400 MW project which was stuck due to lease issue, projects are being set up in Balochistan to solve the problems, the Prime Minister has approved Rs 17 billion for Southern Grid. At Gwadar Port, electricity is coming from Iran which has many problems. Work is being done in Block Two in Thar. Work is being done in Block One of Thar in collaboration with Shanghai Electric.

Asim Saleem Bajwa further said that we will go for production of fuel from our own coal instead of imported coal, we are consulting on extracting chemicals from coal, I am putting everything in front of this house because you will guide the nation. 105 km of railway line is required for coal mining, 105 km of railway line is being discussed with the Planning Commission, all projects are being carried out in collaboration with the Ministries.

Asim Saleem Bajwa further said that there is a big problem of electricity in Gilgit-Baltistan. Roads in Kamrat village are being consulted with.
