ISLAMABAD – August 21, 2025: Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Daniyal Chaudhry met with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jean Merritt in Islamabad on Monday. The two sides discussed bilateral relations, mutual interests, and cooperation in multiple sectors.
Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK) have maintained a high-level dialogue framework since 2011, covering trade, economic development, education, cultural exchanges, and security cooperation. Both countries reiterated their commitment to expanding and deepening these engagements.

Daniyal Chaudhry underlined the democratic direction of Pakistan, noting that strong institutions and constructive dialogue are essential for a sustainable democracy. He also raised matters related to Pakistani nationals residing in the UK, including taxation and facilitation measures.
Jean Merritt appreciated these initiatives and expressed the UK’s interest in further collaboration, particularly on issues concerning the Pakistani diaspora.
