Date announced for the election of Chairman Senate

Lahore, 4th March: The date for the Election of Chairman Senate has been announced.

Baaghi TV reports that the newly elected members of the Senate will be sworn in on March 12.

According to the Senate Secretariat, the term of the retired senators will expire on March 11. They will be sworn in on March 12 in the morning.

According to reports, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has become the largest party in the upper house in the upcoming Senate elections and six senators will play a decisive role in the election of the chairman of the Senate.

The PTI has 26 seats in the upper house while the PPP is the second largest party with 20 seats. PML-N has 17 seats in the Senate. Thus, the PML-N has become the third-largest party in the upper house

According to political observers, the PDM has a majority in the next phase of the election when the chairman of the Senate will be elected. Otherwise, the PTI will also face defeat for the chairmanship of the Senate.
